Chem-Dry Franchise CEO Dan Tarantin Profiled In ‘Franchise Update’ Magazine
Chem-Dry is getting a lot of media attention — small wonder, given the solid figures it’s posting from one of its most successful years ever
In late 2011, Dan Tarantin took the helm of Chem-Dry, and he wasted no time reinvigorating the brand. Chem-Dry franchise owners were doing a solid business, he saw, but he also knew there could be more.
That’s just one takeaway from a recent article in Franchise Update magazine, which profiled Dan recently. Under his watch, Chem-Dry has been named the top carpet cleaning franchise by Entrepreneur for the 28th year in a row and added more than 100 franchises each in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The brand is now in more than 50 countries around the world and is poised to have another remarkable year in 2016.
Setting sensible long- and short-term goals
In the article, Dan talks about how he likes to set goals for himself and for his management team — the most important one being to support Chem-Dry owners in the field. Dan has worked hard to surround himself with an executive team that shares his vision and understands that everything begins with the work that’s being done by Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners around the United States and around the world.
“I see one of my primary goals as being a recruiter,” he says. “My top priorities are to bring on great new franchisees and then create a culture dedicated to serving franchisees. The single biggest impact I can have as CEO is to ensure that every employee in our company fully understands and embraces our mission of supporting franchisees and helping them to succeed.”
The way forward is clearly marked
To that end, Dan says that economic factors, such as the recent downturn, can’t be ignored. But they can’t dictate how the company runs, either.
“The economy does not change our goals,” he says. “It may change our approach and how we get there, but we are never going to change our goal of helping franchisees grow and be successful. If people are reaching their goals and are happy, that is success to me. Helping people realize their dreams is a tremendous feeling.”
So what to look for in 2016, bedsides more double-digit growth?
“Even better support for our franchisees with the next set of initiatives and tools that we can give them,” Dan says. “We will also be further solidifying our brands into the hearts of our customers and creating an even stronger emotional connection.”
